Not like the Wonder Girls were in need of further animation, but just in case, they’re brought to singing, dancing life in the video for their latest dance-pop smash-to-be, “Like Money.” The video, set in a futuristic lab (and you can tell it’s the future because everything is glowing) is like 1/3 Bjork’s “All is Full of Love,” 1/3 Bionic-era Christina Aguilera, and 1/3 robo-funk Black Eyed Peas. Speaking of BEP, Akon shows up for a verse and chorus of his own, and he’s looking a whole lot like will.i.am these days, with the mild fauhawk and the sunglasses and the singing a lot over his shoulder. Unexpected, but not the worst look for the guy, all told—at least until he can get back to hanging poolside with David Guetta.
“Love me like money / Love me like cars.” Well, if the Wonder Girls are still planning their imminent stateside breakthrough—and from the recurring “DOMINATION” of the video, it would seem that they are—it’s good that they’ve nailed American priorities as they have.
