Great as his career continues to be, Usher’s personal life seems as unenviable as that of any other celebrity over the last five decades. A professional falling out with his mother, a bitter divorce with his first wife Tameka Foster, and now, a tragic accident suffered by his stepkid, Foster’s 11-year-old son Kyle. After being struck in the head by a passing jet ski while tubing in Atlanta’s Lake Lanier, TMZ reports, Kyle was rushed to the hospital, where doctors failed to detect any brain activity. Usher and Tameka are now at the hospital, and have the impossible decision of whether or not to take Kyle—who has since been pronounced permanently brain dead—off life support.
Our hearts go out to Usher and his first wife here at Popdust, and we hope Ush spends the next five years after this sipping pina coladas on a beach somewhere far, far away, where no drama can possibly reach him.
