Pink already seems to have one certain hit under her belt for upcoming album The Truth About Love with its lead single, the Modest Mouse-pilfering pop/rock blast “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”—still in the iTunes top five two weeks after its release, with radio likely to catch up fairly quickly. And while a 30-second snippet does not a hit single make, we like Alecia’s odds with the upcoming album’s second leaked transmission, “The King is Dead But the Queen is Alive.” From the half-minute of the song we’ve been granted, it sounds like a Bon Jovi-style arena-rocker, with a mean guitar lick, a singalong chorus and plenty of backing “HEY!”s to go along with.
It certainly sounds like a smash to us—and that’s before we even figure out who or what Pink is talking about with the whole king/queen business. Shots at Carey Hart? A fellow pop star? LeBron James? Can’t wait to find out.
