Fitting that the video for “Amen” should debut on a Sunday morning, huh? Of course, church is just about the one place that the “Amen” video doesn’t take place in—Meek Mill and Drake are too busy wiping the sleep out of their eye after a long night’s partying with bad bitches and real ni—s, then hitting the club, going on tour, hanging out in front of the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum…you know, the usual. They might not be taking the song’s “chuuurch” and “preeeach” exhortations super literally, but at the very least, they never seem ungrateful for the fantastically fabulous existences they have been permitted to live. Amen to that, certainly.
Good video, and for one of the best songs of the summer, but where’s Jeremih? First he gets shut out of a featuring credit on the official single, and now he doesn’t even get invited to the City of Brotherly Love for the video shoot? “Down on Me” wasn’t even that long ago, guys.
