Well, he certainly wouldn’t be the first rapper to go to jail after a club altercation, but we somehow thought that Drake—you know, the guy behind “Marvin’s Room” who once starred in a Canadian teen drama—would spend most of his career staying out of that fray. Regrettably, it looks like that might be harder for Drizzy than we previously anticipated, as news of his recent posse throwdown with Chris Brown at a New York club has made his way to the police, who plan on detaining Young Aubrey for his role in the mishigas. (Perhaps the last straw was news of Spurs point guard Tony Parker being injured in the fray—geez, was anyone not at this club Thursday morning?)
“Reckless endangerment” is the charge, according to a source reported by FOX News, who cites a witness that saw Drake throw a bottle during the fracas. (The witness says the bottle did not connect with anyone, and is thus likely not the cause behind that nasty Breezy chin gash he tweeted a few days back.) The article goes on to report that if Drake does not agree to surrender to the authorities early next week, his concert tonight at New York’s Jones Beach might be interrupted by the 5-0 hauling Drizzy in.
Well, we didn’t know that when Drake promised to outdo Summer Jam that he had his own high-profile, on-stage arrest in mind, but that would be some damn good theatrics. Maybe even agree to the surrender, he should fake the on-stage arrest anyway. “Ya never take me alive, COPPAHS!!!”
